Two illustrations of mine were accepted into the 2014 issue of Communication Arts!
The first piece was for The Magazine, about a freelancer who learns to cope with a debilitating neck injury. The second was for the New York Times, about the successes and failures of programs that fight poverty.
Thanks so much to the judges, and to art directors Glenn Fleishman and Alexandra Zsigmond for these assignments.
I’m featured on Illustration Age today! Woohoo!
(Also note the link to the brilliant Sarah Jacoby.)
I got some requests for prints, so I finally added a bunch of recent illustrations to my erstwhile tumbleweed-strewn Society6 page. Take a look if you’re interested in buying any prints!
I did this illustration for Briarpatch Magazine, accompanying a moving personal essay by Cynthia Dewi Oka about the inevitability of unemployment in a capitalist system, and the feeling of powerlessness that exists among the unemployed.
I really love doing these simplified portraits, and I’m grateful to art director Andrew Loewen for giving me a lot of freedom with this piece.
New piece for aiCIO about finding a new approach to a problem. Thanks to SooJin for the fun assignment!
